Once upon a time… Coco Chanel.
Take a look at the latest film by Karl Lagerfeld. A little journey in the past, where ladies used to shop for hats the way nowadays we shop for shoes and bags. Coco Chanel (played by Keira Knightley) at her beginnings seemed like one of us, well, almost.
Yesterday I went to Lana Del Rey’s concert in Milan. I was pretty surprise to notice that she’s very talented both recorded and live. I loved every part of it, especially the cover she did of Blue Velvet, one of my favourite songs. Here’s the video of H&M commercial (Fall 2012) where she sings that song. Fashion in film meets music: perfect combination.

“Don’t afraid of wearing what you want. Being different means expressing yourself.”
MISS DIOR - La vie en rose - It isn’t possible not to love this short film directed once and again by the great Sofia Coppola, starring the beautiful actress Natalie Portman. Plus, La Vie en Rose is one of my favourite songs, especially in this version by Grace Jones. It makes me want to go out all dressed in pink and smile to life and love. Key word: LOVELY.
After watching this, do you think pink too?
THAT’S WHAT BEST FRIENDS ARE FOR - I think Lena Dunham is a genius. In a way that is weird and super cool at the same time. I thought about it the first time I saw the movie Tiny Forniture, then when I started watching GIRLS (I’ve developed a serious addiction to that show) and finally when I’ve discovered (on Garance Doré) this exquisite video she made for Rachel Antonoff. Every girl who has a best friend (or even more than one like I do) can easily recognize herself in this short film and smile about it. And I simply loved the outfits! The truth is… I would love to be her, I mean Lena Dunham of course. And do everything she’s doing. Don’t you?
WINDOW DRESSING - Actor Toby Maguire poses next to Carolyn Murphy in this editorial by Vogue US’ April issue that clearly recalls Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window, that in my opinion happens to be one of the most stylish movies of all times. What do you think?
Prada Candy - Léa Seydoux is the star of these three adorable short movies directed by Roman Coppola and Wes Anderson for the campaign of the new scent Candy L’eau by Prada.
A woman’s dress should be a like a barbed-wire fence: serving its purpose without obstructing the view.
